Billing & Plans Guide

Everything you need to know about Miniback plans, billing, and subscription management.

Plan Overview

FREE Plan (€0/month)

Perfect for getting started:

  • 1 project
  • 300 feedback per month
  • Full widget customization
  • Basic analytics (counts, simple charts)
  • Email notifications (1 address)
  • Limited API access (POST only, 300 calls/month)
  • CSV export

STARTER Plan (€9/month)

For growing teams:

  • 10 projects
  • 5,000 feedback per month
  • Full widget customization
  • Advanced analytics dashboard
  • Email notifications (up to 5 addresses)
  • Full API access (CRUD operations, 10,000 calls/month)
  • CSV export
  • Slack integration
  • Webhook support (coming soon)

PRO Plan (€39/month)

For power users:

  • Unlimited projects
  • Unlimited feedback
  • Full widget customization
  • Advanced analytics dashboard
  • Email notifications (up to 20 addresses)
  • Unlimited API access (all endpoints, no rate limits)
  • CSV export
  • Slack integration
  • Webhook support (coming soon)
  • Team members & roles (coming soon)

Viewing Your Current Plan

Check Plan & Usage

  1. Sign in to your Miniback dashboard
  2. Go to SettingsBilling
  3. View your current plan at the top of the page

Usage Statistics

The billing page shows:

  • Projects: Used vs. limit
  • Feedback: Current month usage vs. limit
  • API Calls: Current month usage vs. limit

Usage resets monthly on your billing anniversary date.

Upgrading Your Plan

Why Upgrade?

Upgrade when you need:

  • More projects
  • Higher feedback volume
  • Advanced analytics
  • Slack integration
  • Full API access
  • More email notification addresses

How to Upgrade

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. In the “Available Plans” section, click “Upgrade to STARTER” or “Upgrade to PRO”
  3. You’ll be redirected to Stripe Checkout
  4. Enter payment details
  5. Complete the checkout process
  6. You’re upgraded immediately!

Payment Methods

Accepted via Stripe:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • Various local payment methods (depending on region)

Billing Currency

All plans are billed in Euros (EUR).

What Happens After Upgrade

Immediate Changes

Instantly available:

  • Increased project limit
  • Increased feedback limit
  • Increased API call limit
  • Advanced analytics (STARTER+)
  • Slack integration (STARTER+)
  • Full API access (STARTER+)

First Bill

  • You’re charged immediately for the first month
  • Billing anniversary is the day you upgraded
  • Automatic renewal each month

Example:

  • Upgrade on January 15th
  • First charge: €9 (STARTER) or €39 (PRO) on January 15th
  • Next charge: February 15th, March 15th, etc.

Understanding Usage Limits

Project Limits

What counts:

  • Active projects (status: ACTIVE)
  • Paused projects (status: PAUSED)

What doesn’t count:

  • Deleted projects

At limit:

  • Can’t create new projects
  • See “Project limit reached” error
  • Must pause/delete projects or upgrade

Feedback Limits

What counts:

  • All feedback submitted in current calendar month
  • Both widget and API submissions

What doesn’t count:

  • Deleted feedback

At limit:

  • Widget stops accepting new feedback
  • API returns 403 error
  • Existing feedback remains accessible
  • Limit resets next month

API Call Limits

What counts:

  • All API requests (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE)
  • Both successful and failed requests

At limit:

  • API returns 429 (rate limit) error
  • Wait until next month or upgrade
  • Widget continues working (uses different quota)

Downgrading Your Plan

PRO → STARTER or FREE

Not currently supported via dashboard. Contact support to downgrade.

What happens:

  • Billing adjusted at next cycle
  • Lose access to premium features
  • Data is preserved

Before downgrading:

  • Ensure project count is within new limit
  • Consider feedback volume for next month
  • Export data if needed

Pausing Subscription

To pause (not currently supported):

  • Contact support
  • Alternative: Downgrade to FREE plan

Managing Your Subscription

Access Stripe Customer Portal

For paid plans (STARTER/PRO):

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click “Manage Subscription” button
  3. Opens Stripe Customer Portal

In Stripe Portal

You can:

  • Update payment method
  • View billing history
  • Download invoices
  • Update billing address
  • Cancel subscription

Updating Payment Method

  1. Click “Manage Subscription”
  2. In Stripe portal, go to “Payment methods”
  3. Click “Add payment method”
  4. Enter new card details
  5. Set as default

Failed Payments

If payment fails:

  1. Day 1: Automatic retry
  2. Day 3: Second retry + email notification
  3. Day 5: Third retry + email warning
  4. Day 7: Subscription suspended
  5. Day 30: Subscription cancelled

To fix:

  • Update payment method in Stripe portal
  • Contact support if issues persist

Cancelling Your Subscription

How to Cancel

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click “Manage Subscription”
  3. In Stripe portal, click “Cancel subscription”
  4. Confirm cancellation

What Happens After Cancellation

Immediately:

  • Cancellation confirmed
  • No further charges

Until end of billing period:

  • Keep paid features
  • Full access to your plan

After billing period ends:

  • Automatically downgrade to FREE plan
  • Lose premium features:
    • Projects beyond limit are paused
    • Advanced analytics hidden
    • Slack integration disabled
    • API downgraded to FREE limits

Your data:

  • ✅ All feedback preserved
  • ✅ Projects preserved (excess projects paused)
  • ✅ Can re-subscribe anytime

Reactivating Subscription

If you cancelled and want to resume:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click “Upgrade” again
  3. Complete checkout
  4. Full access restored immediately

Billing FAQs

Q: Can I get a refund? A: Refunds handled case-by-case. Contact support within 7 days of charge.

Q: Do you offer annual billing? A: Not currently - monthly billing only.

Q: Can I upgrade mid-month? A: Yes! You’re charged immediately and billing anniversary changes.

Q: What happens to my data if I downgrade? A: All data is preserved. Projects exceeding limit are paused (can be unpaused by deleting others).

Q: Do you offer discounts? A: Non-profits and open source projects may qualify. Contact support.

Q: Can I pay via invoice? A: For PRO plan annual contracts, contact support for invoice billing.

Q: Is there a trial period? A: FREE plan is full-featured. Test before upgrading.

Q: What if I exceed limits on FREE? A: Widget stops accepting new feedback. Upgrade to continue collecting.
